Dragon Song

Here's another painting from our Dragon Sketches book!

People that know me, know I LOVE music. It's so inspiring sometimes. I was planning on going salsa while I was painting this one. :)

The story is about a dragon that rescues the princess from her horrible prince and the two become the best of friends and live happily ever after....hahahaha...

You'll be able to do the live classes with me and also have access to my online class videos so you can review the classes at home as well. The only thing you won't have is the one on one critique videos on your own work but I'll be answering any questions in the live class.

Please click HERE for testimonials from the classes I did at Sheridan.

Please leave any questions in the comments area.

For my online digital painting course register at SCHOOLISM.com.

Videocast. New collaboration piece with Alberto Ruiz

Here's a new painting I did for Alberto Ruiz's Eye Candy book. He drew it (from his Pistolas book) and I painted it. I wanted to keep it creative and incorporate his lines in the painting as well.

It's always fun to experiment from time to time.

The video cast is the initial sketch I did for this painting.

NY Comicon 2007 Review. Let the comic conventions begin! Next comicon: San Fran Wondercon March 2-4

Hi all, we're back in Toronto for a day and heading out to SF and LA tomorrow.
I'll try and post more often but right now it's been a little hard due to comic book convention season... lots of travelling to do. Just came back from the NYC comicon and I had a blast! thanks to allll those that came out to see Kei and I. Much appreciated.

Next event is this weekend March 2-4 San Francisco Wondercon 2007!
This weekend will be the Wondercon in SF so if you're in the area, be sure to stop on by!

This year's NY Comicon turned out to be a lot better than last. Thanks John G. and Stephen S. for the invite! Much better organized and got to hang out with our favorite buds Alberto Ruiz and Stephen Silver. Dang those two can draw! Highlights from the trip would have to be our sushi dinner. Not because of the sushi. Actually the sushi tasted good but made Stephen, Kei and I a little sick. The dinner was the highlight because of the conversations we had during the meal. Hearing their stories and sharing some of my own, I found so many things that we had in common. When we'd talk about art, artists, our careers, there seemed to be a common connection between all of us. To have passion, determination and focus. If you have these things plus a few brain cells, talent and success will follow.

Here's a humorous new piece I did recently.

Sketches

Here's a couple more drawings

This one was for a demo for my digital painting class 2. It was all about heads... people, birds, monkeys, whatever. Took about 5 min and then I painted in the eyes a bit when I got home.

And here's a nonsensicle page I sketched out while warming up in the morning. Sketched then scanned and added touches in PS

Absent on the subway and Pic of the week

Hi everyone,

To all those that came out subway sketching yesterday, I'm sorry I couldn't make it. I came down with a nasty flu yesterday morning and needed to stay home to get better.

Good thing was that I was able to stay home to doodle a new pic of the week.

Stay tuned for a new video podcast as well! I plan on doing one tonight or tomorrow. Lots of things to talk about!

Cheers,
Bobby
